Scales explained

ScaleModel lengthBest for
1:1824–28 cmThe largest common collector scale. Heaviest metal bodies, most opening parts, best detail. Display piece rather than a play toy.
1:2220–22 cmSlightly smaller than 1:18 but still large enough for opening doors, working lights and engine sound.
1:2419–21 cmThe most popular collector scale worldwide. Good balance of detail and shelf space, and the widest model choice.
1:2815–17 cmA compact collector scale, common in display-box multipacks.
1:3214–15 cmSmall enough for children to handle, big enough for opening doors and pull-back motors. The best value scale.
1:3611–13 cmPocket size with pull-back action. Common in gift sets.
1:646–8 cmHot Wheels and Matchbox size. Fits standard orange track and sold in multipacks.
1:725–6 cmSmallest common scale, usually sold in large collection trays.

What is an RC car?

An RC car is a radio-controlled model car driven by a handheld transmitter. The transmitter sends signals on a radio frequency — modern cars use 2.4GHz — to a receiver inside the car that controls the steering servo and the drive motor. RC cars differ from simple remote-control toys in having proportional steering and throttle rather than fixed on/off directions.

What is the difference between 27MHz, 40MHz and 2.4GHz RC cars?

27MHz and 40MHz are older fixed-frequency systems: two cars on the same frequency interfere with each other, so only one can run at a time in the same area. 2.4GHz systems pair each car to its own transmitter automatically, so dozens can run together, and range extends to roughly 30–80 metres instead of 10–20. Nearly every RC car on cartoys.pk uses 2.4GHz.

How much does an RC car cost in Pakistan?

RC car prices in Pakistan start around PKR 2,550 for a mini 1:64 desktop drift car and run to about PKR 40,500 for a large 1:12 off-road truck. The most common range for a full-size 1:16 or 1:18 remote control car is PKR 4,000 to PKR 9,000.

What battery does an RC car use, and how long does it run?

Most RC cars in this price range use a 3.7V or 7.4V rechargeable lithium pack charged over USB. Expect 15–25 minutes of running from a 60–90 minute charge. Cheaper cars use AA cells instead, which cost more over time. The battery type is listed in the specifications on every product page.

What age is an RC car suitable for?

Simple two-button RC cars suit ages 3 and up. Pistol-grip drift and racing cars with proportional steering suit ages 6 and up. High-speed off-road trucks and rock crawlers are best from age 8, because they are heavy and fast enough to damage furniture indoors.

How can I make an RC car faster?

The usual routes are a higher-voltage battery pack, a lower-turn motor, a larger pinion gear, and lighter wheels. All of them shorten motor life and most void the warranty. On a ready-to-run toy-grade car the safest real gain is a fully charged battery and a smooth surface — a car rated 20 km/h on carpet will often do close to its rated speed on tile or concrete.

What is the difference between an RC drift car and a normal RC car?

A drift car runs hard plastic or PVC tyres instead of rubber ones, so the rear loses traction deliberately and the car slides through corners. Most are 4WD so the drift can be held rather than spinning out. Many are sold with a second set of grip tyres so the same car can be driven normally.
